1N MADURAI - 2N THANJAVUR - 1N MAHABALIPURAM - 2N CHENNAI
Day 01: Arrive Madurai
On arrival at Madurai Airport/Railway Station you will be transferred to your hotel. Later in the afternoon proceed to visit Thirumalai Nayak Palace, South India’s largest Temple tank - Vandiyur Mariamman Tank and then to the ancient Meenakshi Temple. Return to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Madurai.
Things to do in Madurai
Walk around the busy streets near Meenakshi Amman temple and you will be fascinated by the flower market, street food, etc. By the way, Madurai is popular for its Jasmine flower, Jigarthanda, Idli and so on.
Day 02: Madurai - Karaikudi - Thanjavur
After breakfast, drive to Karaikudi.Visit Chettinad Mansions in Kanadukathan and Athangudi Palace. Enjoy the elaborate Chettinad lunch served in Banana leaf in Chettinad hotel. Visit Heritage market in Karaikudi and drive to Thanjavur enroute visit Thirumayam fort Overnight at the hotel in Tanjore
Day 03: Thanjavur
Visit the Brihadeeswara temple/ Big temple (UNESCO HERITAGE SITE) , Tanjore Maratha palace , Saraswathi Mahal Library and Art Gallery . Overnight at the hotel in Thanjavur.
Day 04: Thanjavur - Gangai Konda Cholapuram - Mahabalipuram
After breakfast check out and visit Darasuram ( UNESCO HERITAGE SITE). Then proceed to visit Gangaikondacholapuram (UNESCO HERITAGE SITE). And post lunch drive to Mahabalipuram. Check into the hotel at Mahabalipuram. Overnight at the hotel in Mahabalipuram
Day 05: Mahabalipuram - Chennai
After breakfast, visit another UNESCO HERITAGE SITE Mahabalipuram, known for its rock cut temple, Panchapandava Rathas, Krishna's butter ball, and Arjuna’s penance. Visit the Art Gallery and drive to Chennai. Overnight at the hotel in Chennai
Day 06: Chennai
After breakfast. proceed to visit the Kapaleeshwara temple and local sightseeing and shopping .Evening visit Ashtalakshmi temple and spend time at the quiet Besant nagar beach. Overnight at the hotel in Chennai.
Day 07: Chennai Departure
Today you will be transferred to Chennai airport/railway station to board your flight/train back home or to your next destination.
