About Keezhadi Heritage Museum

Keezhadi (also known as Keeladi) Museum was built recently. Artefacts collected from Keezhadi Excavation site are displayed in the Museum. 

Why should you visit Keezhadi Museum?

Keezhadi is a Sangam age settlement, excavated by the Archaeological Survey of India and the Tamil Nadu State Department of Archaeology. This site is located 12 km southeast of Madurai in Tamil Nadu, near the town of Keezhadi in Sivagangai district. This is a large-scale excavation carried out in Tamil Nadu after the Adichanallur archaeological site. The settlement lies on the bank of the Vaigai River and it reflects the ancient culture of Tamil people between 6th century BCE and 3rd century CE.

Itinerary - Cab Pick up at Madurai Railway Station or Bus Stand or Airport around noon, Travel to Keezhadi to see the museum until 7 PM (including the museum in lights), drop at Madurai Railway Station or Bus Stand or Airport. 

Package B - 1N2D Trip (Booking on quote basis)

Itinerary - 

- DAY 1 Cab Pick up at Madurai Railway Station or Bus Stand or Airport around noon, Check in at hotel, Travel to Keezhadi to see the museum until 7 PM (including the museum in lights), Visit Meenakshi Amman Temple in the evening, Have street food or at a restaurant and drop at Hotel. Overnight stay in Madurai.

- DAY 2 Cab pick up at hotel, visit Thirumalai Naicker Mahal, back to hotel, check out and drop at Madurai Railway Station or Bus Stand or Airport around 1 PM
